Regional Councillor's Executive Assistant since 2003.
Working with the Town of Markham as a volunteer since 1999.

Participated in the 2006 20 Minute Makeover the Town of Markham Civic Centre.
 
Small Business Owner in Markham (11 years):
Valerie sits on the board of directors of Chemline Plastics Limited, a Thornhill company that employs 26 people.
 
Valerie with her father Bill Ruddock, founder and CEO of Chemline Plastics Ltd., in front of the Chemline office. During WWII Bill served in Europe, with the rank of Captain. He is also a member of the Canadian Legion.

During that time I worked in the Field Support Centre, Information Systems, Education and Direct Marketing as a bilingual representative
 
Earth Day Scarborough Co-Chair (Last two years):
The focus of this event was to get students to participate in environmental activities. I coordinated teachers and students to take part in tree planting events, litter clean up, educational walks and a flag raising ceremony. In 2002 we had over 800 students and 20 teachers involved.
